Discussions contain the messages sent back and forth by individuals about a particular subject.

The members of a team or workgroup often need to hold a discussion on a particular subject. For example, if a product announcement is being discussed within a group, every member of the group needs to be able to track recent decisions or controversies concerning that product.

An Intraspect Discussion provides a solution to this communication problem. A discussion is easily created by any user in just a few minutes. By interacting with the discussion inside of the Intraspect Client, team members can track and contribute to a shared project.

Intraspect Discussions are not limited to users of Intraspect or to interaction via the Intraspect Client. Discussion Recipients can be defined so that new discussion postings are automatically distributed to those recipients via their e-mail addresses, to be read and responded to from their preferred e-mail clients. The recipients are also contacted by e-mail if the discussion e-mail address changes.

Any user logged on to the Intraspect Workplace can participate in a discussion or post a message within a discussion. However, only the Discussion Recipients receive an e-mail message containing the text of a message posted to the discussion.

Only messages can go into a discussion; no other objects are allowed.
